Velma Jane Huth

Velma Jane Huth, age 91, of Pinckneyville, IL, went to be with her Lord, Wednesday morning, July 16, 2003, in the Pinckneyville Community Hospital. 
Velma was born July 4, 1912 in Pinckneyville, IL, the daughter of Ira C. and Helena E. (Lacy) Jenkel. Velma was united in marriage to Henry W. Huth and he preceded her in death July 18, 1963. Velma was a homemaker and member of the Holt's Prairie Baptist Church of Pinckneyville where she was the Church pianist for over 50 years. She also enjoyed oil and acrylic painting, quilting, gardening and gospel music.
Velma is survived by five children, Betty Bishop and husband Jackie of DuQuoin, Shirley Welsch and husband Ben of Pinckneyville, Mary Shute of Tamaroa, Charles Huth and wife Pat of Ava, Linda Sullivan and husband Nathan of Croton, Ohio; one sister, Ernestine Rushing of Pinckneyville; daughter-in-law, Karen Huth of Ava; one sister-in-law, Lois Jenkel of Pinckneyville; 15 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren;  five great great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
Velma was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, David; a brother, Harold Jenkel, and a sister, Myrtle Meyer.
Funeral services were Saturday morning, July 19 at 11:00 a.m., at the Holt's Prairie Baptist Church in Pinckneyville, IL with Brother Collin Hirsch officiating. Interment was in the Holt's Prairie Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Friends called at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville, IL Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and again on Saturday morning from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
